Recap of Hong Kong Watch advocacy activities: August 2026

Thanks to the generous support of our donors, Hong Kong Watch is able to sustain our international advocacy work for the Hong Kong community. This recap outlines our key activities in August 2026.

United Kingdom

• Published a briefing revealing that Hong Kongers with settled status in the UK are still being denied access to their MPF savings, following an exclusive report in The Mail on Sunday on our survey findings

• Organised a letter from our UK Patrons and Advisor to Foreign Secretary on the conviction of Hong Kong Tiananmen vigil leaders

• Hosted Youth Initiative workshops on parliamentary advocacy as well as community and policy research

Canada

• Met with an advisor to Ontario’s Minister of Citizenship and Multiculturalism to discuss Hong Kong Pathway issues

• Hosted a Youth Initiative seminar on Canada’s three levels of government

United States

• Hosted a Youth Initiative workshop on civic engagement through a Republican lens

• Youth Initiative participants volunteered at the Hong Kong Fair in San Francisco

• 繼《星期日郵報》獨家報導香港監察調查發現後發表簡報，揭示已獲英國定居港人申領強積金仍然被拒絕

• 統籌英國香港監察贊助人及顧問就鄒幸彤和李卓人被定罪致外交大臣的聯署信

• 舉辦「青年政治參與計劃」工作坊，講解國會倡議，以及社區與政策研究

加拿大

• 會見安大略省公民及多元文化部長顧問，討論「Hong Kong Pathway」議題

• 舉辦「青年政治參與計劃」研討會，講解加拿大三級政府架構

美國

• 舉辦「青年政治參與計劃」工作坊，從共和黨視角探討公民參與

• 「青年政治參與計劃」參加者擔任三藩市「香港市集」義工
