Gyde Jensen MP hosted a webinar with Hong Kong Activists

On 10 June, Gyde Jensen MP, the Chair of the Committee on Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid of German Parliament Bundestag, hosted a live webinar with 4 pro-democracy Hong Kong activists including Avery Ng Man-yuen, Lee Cheuk-Yan, and Au Nok Hin and Simon Cheng about the situation in Hong Kong and the future of the city. Hong Kong Watch helped connect the activists with Gyde Jensen MP for the event.

On 28 May, the People‘s Congress of China passed a new security law for Hong Kong. This law is not only in clear violation of the Sino-British Agreement of 1984 but fundamentally undermines the civil rights and liberties of over seven million people in Hong Kong.
