Hong Kong Watch co-hosts 'The Hong Konger' screening and panel discussion in London

The London screening of the documentary The Hong Konger and the panel discussion, co-organised by Hong Kong Watch and the Acton Institute, was successfully held on 10 October at the Convent Garden ODEON Cinema.

Panel speakers included Benedict Rogers, co-founder and CEO of Hong Kong Watch, Baroness Helena Kennedy, Director of the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute and Member of the House of Lords, Eric Kohn, Director of Marketing and Communications at the Acton Institute, Lee Wing-tat, former Hong Kong lawmaker, and Catherine Li, Hong Kong human rights artist-activist.

Synopsis of The Hong Konger:
When Hong Kong’s basic freedoms come under attack, media tycoon Jimmy Lai finds himself in the crosshairs of the state and must choose between defending Hong Kong’s long-standing liberties, or his own freedom.
