Recap of Hong Kong Watch advocacy activities: April 2026

Thanks to the generous support of our donors, Hong Kong Watch is able to sustain our international advocacy work for the Hong Kong community. This recap outlines our key activities in April 2026.

Support us

United Kingdom

  • Met with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in London

  • Met with the Canadian Embassy in London to discuss transnational repression against the Hong Kong community in the UK and Canada

  • Co-hosted a private briefing in Parliament on transnational repression research with UK-China Transparency

Canada

  • Submitted policy proposals on the Hong Kong Pathway to contacts in the provincial governments of Ontario and Alberta

  • Co-hosted an event in Parliament on countering transnational repression by the CCP

United States

  • Spoke at an event at the Bay Area HongKonger Community Center on our advocacy efforts and Youth Initiative Program in the US

  • Spoke at a seminar at the University of California, Berkeley on China’s rare earth monopoly

United Nations

  • Gave an online testimony about our UN submission on the protection of human rights defenders in the digital age
