Leung Kwok-hung co-founded the League of Social Democrats in 2006, and formerly served as a member of the Legislative Council from 2004 to 2016. Leung was disqualified from his Legislative Council position in 2017 over oath-taking procedures.
Leung was arrested multiple times for charges related to his involvement in unauthorised assemblies, and was also arrested under the National Security Law in January 2021 as one of the ‘Hong Kong 47’ for his participation in the ‘35+1’ unofficial primary election in July 2020.
