Chan Tsz-wah was first arrested on 10 October 2020 for conspiracy to assist criminals under the Crimes Ordinance. Chan was arrested again on 15 February 2021 for conspiracy to collude with foreign forces under the National Security Law.

Charges, incidents & sentences:

• Charge: Conspiracy to collude with foreign forces

  Incident: Accused of conspiring with Jimmy Lai, Mark Simon, Andy Li, and Finn Lau between July 2020 and February 2021 to lobby external forces to impose sanctions on Hong Kong and China (HKFP)

  Sentence: 6 years, 3 months’ imprisonment (HKFP)

• Charge: Conspiracy to assist criminals

  Incident: Accused of assisting activist Andy Li’s escape to Taiwan in August 2020
