James Naish MP becomes Hong Kong Watch Patron in UK

Hong Kong Watch is delighted to announce the appointment of James Naish MP as our new Patron in the UK.

James Naish has served as the Labour MP for Rushcliffe since 2024, in the south of Nottinghamshire. Before being elected, he had served as the Leader of Bassetlaw District Council and worked in the energy industry. He currently sits on the House of Commons’ International Development Committee and chairs the All-Party Parliamentary Groups for the East Midlands and Fusion Energy. Since his election he has consistently championed the rights of BNO visa holders in the UK, several thousand of whom have made his constituency of Rushcliffe their home, making him well-placed to advocate for the people of Hong Kong in the UK Parliament.

James Naish MP joins a distinguished group of Hong Kong Watch Patrons in the UK, including Lord Patten of Barnes, the last Governor of Hong Kong, Sir Malcolm Rifkind KC, former Foreign Secretary, Lord Alton of Liverpool, Baroness Kennedy of The Shaws KC, Sir Geoffrey Nice KC, Tom Tugendhat MP, Alistair Carmichael MP, and Fiona Bruce.

James Naish MP has proven to be a dedicated supporter of Hong Kong and a close ally in our work for Hong Kongers in the UK. We look forward to building on this foundation in his new role as our Patron, to advance our mission to defend human rights and democracy in Hong Kong.

英議員James Naish MP加入成為香港監察贊助人

香港監察很高興宣布委任英國國會議員James Naish MP為新贊助人。

James Naish自2024年起擔任工黨國會議員，代表位於諾定咸郡南部的Rushcliffe選區。他當選前曾擔任巴錫羅區議會主席，亦曾從事能源行業。他現時擔任下議院國際發展委員會委員，同時擔任國會跨黨派東密德蘭小組和融合能源小組主席。他自當選後一直致力聲援捍衛英國BNO簽證持有人的權利，當中有數千港人在他代表的Rushcliffe選區定居，這有利他在英國國會為香港人倡議。
